Dear Daughter,
It certainly looks like rain. Obviously, I haven't had TV on. I don't plan to get out today. Isn't that nice?
The first thing that has happened this morning is that Harry made the coffee last night, and this morning, water is all over the floor. Rita has been mopping the floor, and so sorry that the water came out.
We went to Applebee's last night - Daddy and Harry had buttermilk shrimp, Rita and I had a cheap salad. It was very good.
Rita decorated the hall by making a wreath. It looks like Halloween. The four of us went down, took the pies. Daddy and harry bought large knives, twenty-five cents each. Daddy was fine, I think.
It's 6:55 AM, so we have an hour to get ready for the flea market. Daddy said he would go - he is still asleep.
Hope you get this before you leave. Have a safe trip home. Hope it doesn't rain on you.
Rita got the letter you sent her. She was thrilled!
Love you very much -
Much love, M & D

Dear Mother:
Thanks for your letter this morning. I didn't see it until this afternoon, but I did enjoy hearing about your morning with Rita and Harry. I will look forward to hearing all about the flea market!
Since I don't have much time before I have to leave for my meeting, I'll just tell you that I had a lovely morning at home. Although I washed clothes and straightened up the house, I also had time to have a lovely time just piddling around, and eating a relaxing lunch on the porch. I left at 2:00 and had an uneventful drive to Jackson. On the way I stopped at the Batesville outlet mall and bought someone a Christmas present. I wonder who????
Once I got to Jackson,I checked into the hotel which is where I am now. In just a couple of minutes I'll leave for my meeting which, as I told you, shouldn't last too long, and then I plan to come back to the hotel and eat at the restaurant next door. They have a special tonight on raw oysters--yum!!!
Tell me all about the flea market when you write, and have fun!
Bye--Ruth
