sales abound!

Dear Daughter,

It is such a beautiful day, cool and nice. I love the days like this.

I went to the Pharmacy and got our medicine. Then, would you believe it, I thought I would go to Dillard's and do some walking, which I did, but when I got to Dillard's, they still had all their summer clothes on sale, 75% off, and 75% of that. Of course, I didn't buy anything , of course, but I asked one of the girls who works there when they were sending the clothes out, and she said she didn't know they were sending them out, so I guess they are keeping them in the store. Will wonders never cease.

Daddy is getting ready to go to the garbage, which reminds me that maybe you and Stan can take him to Kroger's to have his Flu shot. He was going to try to walk over there, but I'm afraid he couldn't walk back. Anyway, we can talk about it when you come.

Daddy made the other "batch" of pear preserves today, so we will have a lot to eat.

Phil is supposed to call tonight. We always look forward to it to see how they are getting along, including Baby.

Dear Mother:

It was nice to read your letter, Mother, and hear that things were going well with you and
Daddy. I’m glad to know that Dillard’s still has sales although, to be honest, I don’t have much hope that they will have anything interesting to buy. Still, it will be fun to look on Saturday. Who knows? We might find a great deal.

My day at school was so busy. I did have half class, half computer day for each group today but that made it even more hectic than usual. Still, all my students seemed content with that compromise and I got almost everything done that I needed to do. In my free time, I was busy getting the Reading Fair organized. You will hear more about this as the next few months progress so I will just say that I was getting the initial letter to all the teachers ready today and I was finalizing the arrangements. Once the regular day was finished, I had my afternoon duty and then, after that, there was a faculty meeting. Finally
I was able to come home at 4:30 so it wasn’t too bad. I was definitely eager to get home on such a beautiful day!

Stan and I have finished dinner and now I’m looking forward to a quiet and short evening before I go to bed. Hope you all enjoy talking to Phil. Until tomorrow morning….
