Stan--sick or well?

Dear Mother:

Good morning. I know you were unhappy about my letter last night so I’ll apologize but I have to say, there was nothing I could do but tell you. Stan is always still asleep when I leave for school so I won’t know how he feels until he emails me. But it really doesn’t matter how he feels this morning, just how he feels when he gets home. One thing we discussed last night was not coming to Nashville tonight but trying to get up early enough tomorrow morning to leave by 9:00 which would get us to Nashville by 1:30 or 2:00. So I’ll let you know, of course, what we will be doing but it will be this afternoon before Stan will know if he feels like driving to Nashville tonight. I’m so sorry about all of this but, so far, this has been a difficult fall semester for Stan. He just hasn’t been in particularly good health. Stan, on the one hand, is the picture of health during the summer when he’s outside all the time and not around many people. But once he gets around all his students and catches something, he has a really hard time shaking it off. I would predict that he will be much healthier when he retires than he is now.

Well, I’ll go get ready for school. It is computer day and so there isn’t as much stress today. It’s always nice to stick those pesky little 2nd graders in front of a computer! I hope you all are okay and Ihope you can enjoy your lunch downstairs today.

Bye--Ruth
