back from the woods

Dear Daughter,

This has been a good day. We are looking for our Omaha steaks. You wrote the check on October 5, and today I called them, and the guy said they were on a Express Van and would be here sometime this afternoon. They still haven't come, but I guess they will be here soon. It seems that it took quite a time for them to be delivered.

I went to the Pharmacy this afternoon, and, bought our medicine, and did some shopping. I didn't go to the mall, but went to Shoe Store, that is on the same block as Fantastic Sam's Beauty Shop on Bandywood. I bought a purse for .25 at our Flea market, and I took it to the Shoe Shop to have it repaired. They couldn't but, told me if I wanted it fixed badly enough that I could go to the Internet, get their phone number, and call and asked them about it. i thought I would ask you to get the information on the Computer, and I could ship to them, and they could fix it. I know you think that it isn't worth it, but it is a pretty purse - we'll talk about it when you come.

Daddy is asleep, but I will get him up around 5:00 for the news.

Dear Mother:

The report on the field trip, I’m happy to say, is a good one. I’m totally, completely exhausted but I’m relieved that all went well and that we comported ourselves well. We were late leaving school (8:15) so we were about 10 minutes late but that didn’t seem to be a problem. We had a short orientation, split into groups, and then headed into the woods. We hiked up and down hills and then spent 2 hours doing survival/cooperation games so I was ready to go back to the lodge for lunch at noon. The lunch was fine (hamburgers) and we had to clean up everything ourselves before going back out to the woods. So, the weather was beautiful, the kids were nice, the group leaders did a good job BUT I was ready to come home.

We got back to school at 5:15 and I was home by 5:30. Stan got home at 6:00 and we just fixed our own dinners. So I’m ready to go take a nice long shower. Hope church went well and that you all are feeling well. Good night.
