flu shots

Dear Daughter,

Hasn't this been such a gorgeous day? I know you don't get out much, out of the classroom, but I hope you have a pretty view of the weather!

We went down at 8:20 to get our flu shots. We were the first ones in the parlor for our shots, so I got the first flu shot, and, it didn't hurt at all, so I'm glad that is over. I was happy to hear you say that Stan was going to get his shot.

This afternoon I went to Walgreen's to get Daddy some ointment to put on his hands. Then I stopped at Kroger's t get some medicine for him. and two or three other items at the grocery.

Daddy was sitting in his chair in the living room, and I asked him if he had a message for the Daughter, and he said to tell you that it is a fact that he loves you!

The Bugman comes tomorrow. Also, Rita and Harry are coming for a short time. They are having a good meeting, but it is only forty miles and they said they would come for a short while.

We love you!

Love, M & D

Dear Mother:

Since I have to stay at school until 7:00, I'm obviously still here. So far I have had 5 parents come by and all the conferences have been pleasant ones so I guess I can only complain about the fact that I'd rather be home by now. Still, having gotten to sleep late and having had a nice morning at home, I guess I came out on top as far as today's schedule goes.

It was a pretty day, wasn't it? I had my lunch sitting on the porch while reading a book. That's the height of luxury as far as I'm concerned. I really do enjoy having just a little bit of time by myself at home since it's so rare. But nothing much has been going on today. I got up, piddled around, washed my hair, paid some bills, read, ate lunch, and came to school. Since getting to school, I've had those few conferences, worked hard and long on the reading fair registrations which I typed, duplicated, and distributed to teachers. That took two hours or more so that's been the main job of the day. I've also been working on my new science unit which I certainly don't have finished but I do have some lessons prepared for the next couple of days.

I'm glad you got your flu shot. Did Daddy get one, too? I hope you both feel okay as a result and that you don't have any reactions to your shots. Have a good rest of the evening.

Bye--Ruth
