Dear Daughter,
So glad you called a few moments ago. Glad you made the trip okay, in your new car.
We went to lunch, and both of us had Catfish, and the vegetables that went with it. Then I left shortly after we got back to our apartment. First I stopped at the bank, then I went to the Beauty Shop and had my hair done by Sue, the manager of the Beauty Shop. It looks okay. At least I have that done, so I won't have to worry about having it done.
Mary Clark came home some time today. When we were coming back from lunch, on the elevator B. J. told us that she is going to stay with Mary Clark all the time that she needs her. I think that is so nice, because she is a good cook, etc. I have no idea what she charges for sitting with a patient, but I don't think it would be much.
We are going to watch a movie tonight. I don't know which one, but we will probably watch A&E, Poirot, in some kind of movie.
Tomorrow I will write sometime in the afternoon. I'm not sure what time they are coming, but Harry said it should be about 5:00 when they got here. Of course, Daddy and I are going to eat lunch, but I have no idea where we will eat tomorrow night. We will tell you when we talk to you on Sunday.
Love you, and hope you get a good night's rest -
Much love, M & D

Dear Mother:
While I hadn't really intended to write you this morning, I am sitting here roaming around the internet on my laptop in my hotel room so I thought the least I could do was to say hi. So--Hi! How are you all this morning? How's the weather? It's surprisingly cool and cloudy here but that's fine with me. I enjoy autumnal weather and, if it stays cloudy, it will be nice to drive home without the sun heating up the car--not that my air conditioner doesn't work perfectly in my NEW Crown Victoria!
I stayed up dreadfully late last night after getting back to my hotel room about 9:30. Our meeting lasted 3 hours and I think we got everything done but, when I got back to my room, I was tired but still very much awake. Stan and I had a nice long Yahoo chat, typing back and forth as fast as we could. Then I watched a movie, "One Fine Day," took a long, hot bath and read my book. I just piddled around until, before I knew it, it was 12:30. I had intended to sleep later than 8:30 this morning but the people across the hall decided to stand out in the hall talking loudly while opening and closing their door multiple times so I finally decided to get up. I have been downstairs to have a nice hot bacon and egg breakfast and now I'm going to hang around my room for awhile drinking coffee before checking out in about 30 minutes or so. I'm going to shop just briefly here in Jackson (mostly at Sam's) and then head home.
Hope you all have a good time with Maggie and Gary.
Bye--Ruth
