too tired to type

Dear Daughter,

This has been a busy day for me. It was nice outside, but it has been rainy looking ever since about noon.

I went out to the grocery, and to the mall. I was on my feet about two hours, so I guess that counts for my walking today.

Daddy seems to be doing as well as could be expected. Of course, he gets sore in his back and his arms because they are not used too much. He still sits in his chair and is thankful that he is comfortable.

Isabelle Dawson called us this afternoon and Daddy and I were both asleep, so I called her back and left a message, so I imagine she will call us tonight.

I got your short note, and I told Daddy that I hoped you would rest tonight. It's a shame for anybody who is as smart as you, to have to do the things you have to do in Biloxi. Please, if you write us, tell me what you did today.

The Yankees lost to Boston last night, and they play again tonight. I guess we will watch it and watch the Kentucky vs South Carolina tonight, too.

Please don't work too hard -

Both Daddy and I love you so very much -

Much love, M & D

Dear Mother:

Having gotten only 6 hours of sleep for the past two nights, I'm almost too tired to type. It will all be fine once I get home but I can hardly wait to get home and fall into bed! Anyway, I enjoyed the conference workshops yesterday and I'm sure the ones this morning will be equally enlightening. We had fun shopping last night at the Edgewater Mall (got some nice fall clothes) and then had a very large, tasty dinner (finally) at 8:30 last night.

The sessions I attended were relatively interesting, and i feel like I've learned enough to have made my attendance at this conference beneficial. But I have to say that I'm tired and am looking forward to getting home to my own bed!

I will let everyone know when to expect me home--right now I would guess it would be between 7 and 8 p.m. Gotta run pack up and go to the morning workshops.

Bye--Ruth
